1. Introduction and scope
This Cookie Policy explains how innerstrength.info uses cookies and similar technologies when you browse Inner Strength. The publication is based at 24 Willowbrook Lane, London, United Kingdom, and can be contacted at [email protected]. Read this document alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains personal information, lawful bases, recipients and your rights in greater detail.
The policy describes the technology actually included in the website. It does not imply that selecting a preference activates services which have not been installed. We currently use an enquiry session and a browser preference record. We do not include advertising networks, audience measurement tags, embedded social feeds or behavioural analytics.
2. What cookies and similar storage are
A cookie is a small item of information a server asks a browser to store and return with later requests. Some cookies are temporary and last for a browsing session; others have a specified expiry. A cookie may support a function such as remembering a session without containing the full content of a form or identifying a visitor by name.
Local storage is a different browser feature. A page can save a value on the device and read it later from the same origin. Unlike a cookie, that value is not automatically sent with every request. UK rules on storage and access technologies can apply to both cookies and local storage, so our preference information covers both rather than treating local storage as outside the rules.
3. Essential contact session
The contact page uses a first-party session cookie named innerstrength_session. Its purpose is to connect the displayed form with a server-generated request-verification token, track when the form was opened and limit repeated submissions within the session. The cookie holds the session identifier used for those technical checks. The visible form fields are handled within the current validation request.
The session is required for the contact function you request. It is set on visiting contact.php rather than being needed to read every article. HttpOnly limits direct access from JavaScript, SameSite=Lax limits certain cross-site uses, and Secure is enabled on HTTPS connections. The browser normally removes the cookie at the end of its session, although browser session-restore settings may affect that behaviour.
4. Preference record and expiry
The preference banner stores a first-party local-storage record named innerstrength.consent. It contains the choice All, Partial or Functional, a timestamp and an expiry time. The record does not include your name, email, message or a random advertising identifier. Its purpose is to remember the selection and prevent the banner from appearing on every page during the preference period.
The application treats a preference as valid for 180 days. After that period, it removes the expired value when the site is next opened and presents the banner again. Clearing browser data can remove the record sooner. Different browsers, devices and browser profiles have separate storage, so a choice on one does not automatically apply to another.
5. Optional analytics cookies
No analytics cookies are set by this website, and no analytics script is included. We do not count individual reading journeys, combine pages into visitor profiles or send article activity to an audience measurement platform. The absence of an analytics service is the same whether you choose Accept All, Partial or Functional. An affirmative selection is not used as permission to introduce an undisclosed provider later.
If optional analytics are introduced, this policy and the preference interface must be updated before activation. The new information would need to explain the purpose, provider, storage duration, data accessed and available choices. Where consent is required, the service must remain disabled until an appropriate affirmative choice has been made.
6. Third-party resources and cookies
The site requests typography resources from Google Fonts. Stylesheets are compiled in advance and served locally by this website. External font requests allow the provider to receive technical connection data, such as an IP address and browser headers. They are resource-loading requests rather than an installed analytics service. The website sets a no-referrer policy and does not add tracking parameters to the resource addresses.
We do not intentionally ask these providers to place advertising cookies or use their resources for personalised advertising. External infrastructure may maintain operational logs under its own arrangements. The site does not embed third-party videos, maps or social media widgets. All five lifestyle photographs are stored locally, so viewing them does not make a separate request to a photography platform.
7. What each banner button does
Accept All records the broadest available preference state and closes the banner. Partial records a separate limited preference state and closes the banner. Functional records a necessary-functions-only state and closes the banner. Every option preserves ordinary article access and the contact form's essential session. At present there are no optional categories for any of these selections to activate.
These labels are provided consistently throughout the interface. Because the current implementation includes no analytics or advertising, choosing Partial does not quietly enable an intermediate tracking package. The stored state is simply the choice you made. You can see or change that choice by opening Cookie settings from the footer on any page.
8. Managing and withdrawing preferences
Use the Cookie settings button in the footer to reopen the same controls at any time. Choose a different button to replace the previous selection immediately. Withdrawing a broad preference is as straightforward as making it: open the controls and choose Functional. The banner closes after the new value is recorded, and no page reload is required.
You can also delete the innerstrength.consent value through your browser's site-data controls. The banner will return on the next visit because the website no longer has a remembered selection. Browser preference controls apply to the preference record rather than separate correspondence. For questions about personal information processing, use the process explained in the Privacy Policy.
9. Browser controls and unavailable storage
Browsers commonly provide settings to block cookies, remove site data or clear information when a window closes. The exact location of these controls depends on the browser and device. Use the browser's own help information for current instructions. Blocking all cookies can prevent the contact form's request token from matching the server session; the published email address remains available for direct correspondence.
If local storage is unavailable, the banner still closes for the current page after a selection. A first-party preference cookie is used as a fallback when the browser permits it, with the same 180-day period and chosen state. If both mechanisms are blocked, the choice cannot persist between pages. Reading the journal does not depend on accepting optional tracking services.
10. Server records and retention
Cookie controls concern information stored or accessed on your device. They do not govern every technical operation needed to process an HTTP request. The server validates the contact fields and uses a session token, a form-opening time and a recent completion time for request checks. The thank-you page is the destination of a successfully completed form request. These operations are separate from the browser preference record.
Hosting systems may maintain operational logs under their own technical arrangements. A separate message sent directly to the published email address follows the handling and retention relevant to that correspondence. The Privacy Policy explains these different purposes. Preference expiry does not extend a correspondence retention period, and a preference value is not used to recognise you across unrelated websites.
11. Questions, responsibility and changes
Inner Strength is responsible for the preference controls supplied with this site. If a button fails, tell us which browser and device you used and what happened. You do not need to send a screenshot of private browsing information or a copy of your complete cookie store. A short description of the issue is usually enough to begin investigating.
This policy is effective from 23 October 2026. Future changes to storage purposes or third-party services will be reflected here before they are introduced where required. Continued browsing alone is not treated as consent to new optional storage. Contact Inner Strength at [email protected] or write to 24 Willowbrook Lane, London, United Kingdom, with questions about this policy.
